THINGS I LEARNED WHILE LEARNING MEDICINE-59

-Those around you have a right to their opinion; you also have a right to ignore them.

-Your strength cannot be quantified by how much you have struggled; your strength is exemplified by how much you have overcome.

- Far too many people hold on to past pains that continue to cloud their future emotional successes.

- Seeing your life in certainties always ends in doubts: Seeing your life with doubts always ends in certainty.

-Appreciate those experiences in your life you secretly wished never happened.

- You will never have a time in your life where there are no problems: Problems are a constant; the variable or the “X” factor of issues in your life is how you confront them, fix them, and move on with your life.

-The fundamental attribution error: I am not going to tell you the definition; look it up and think about this for a very long time: My lesson with this is that I will never be able to climb into someone’s mind to understand what their motivation may be for the words that come from their mouth, so I have learned to pay far more attention to their actions.

- Do not take kindness for weakness; the same amount of kindness, the same amount of kindness people can give, it proportional to the same amount of chaos they can also provide. Those individuals that make a conscious effort to be kind and considerate can also teach you some very difficult lessons in life.

- You will meet many that want your fruit of success; few have interest in the work, struggles, or sacrifice of success.

- Success is something to study all your life. Many will doubt you and are frightened by you because you are the constant reminder in their lives of unfulfilled dreams, hopes, and aspirations; they were to afraid to pursue the opportunities or paths they chose not to pursue.
